Your Questions, Answered: Everything you need to know about our seedlings.
Well… you can! The whole point in what I do is to be able to get a plant at its earliest stage of life. If you don’t want to have to wait for the seeds to grow, then buying a plant from the store would be a better fit for you. Now, if you want to have the opportunity to get a plant as a baby and be able to watch it grow up from nothing, that’s where I come in.
Our homepage shows we’re in Collinsville, and the Contact page lists the major crossroads near our shop. These seeds and sprouts require constant monitoring to make sure they germinate and don’t die – just one dry day can ruin the process.
Therefore, I run this shop from home. I think it goes without saying, but I prefer to not have my personal address listed in multiple places on the internet. As much as I would love to have a physical store, it isn’t practical since I can’t be there all day to monitor the plants. It’s just me, Cobe 😊, and hiring staff just to stare at dirt isn’t sensible.
For pickups, I’ll provide the address after purchase, or you can request it in advance via the Contact page. If you’re not comfortable with residential pickup, I do offer local delivery here, or free meetups upon request – just reach out!
When reserving a plant for free, payment isn’t required until it sprouts. Once it does, we require a 25% deposit that’s refundable until it’s ready to go home. I’ll send a photo of your sprout, and provide a payment link where you can pay the deposit via our website directly or use PayPal, PayPal Pay Later, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Afterpay.
The day your plant is ready to go home is when we require a payment of the remaining 75%.
I recommend reading our refund policy where we go into detail on everything payments, deposits, and refunds on our Refund Policy page.
If you no longer want your plant but you have already paid the 25% deposit, you can get a full refund up until the day it is ready to go home. You will get a 3 day heads up before the plant is ready to go home, with the exact date. You can ask for a refund within those 3 days, but by the exact date given, a refund will not be provided.

You will see multiple different statuses in every plants’ descriptions. I always keep these in the listings and update them immediately when the status changes. I do this to help give somewhat of an idea on the timeframe of when the plant is going to sprout, and so you know exactly where the seeds are at prep wise. Below are all the statuses and what they mean:
On the Way – This means the seeds have been ordered and I am waiting on them to arrive.
Soaking – Most seeds require to be soaked in water prior to planting to speed up the germination process. The average soak time is about 24 hours, but it can be between 12 hours and up to 5 days.
Stratifying – Stratification is the process of exposing seeds to cold and moist conditions to break dormancy and encourage germination. It’s also to stimulate natural conditions some seeds need to experience before they will germinate. The average stratification time is between 1 – 3 weeks.
Germinating – This is when the seed has finally been planted and waiting to sprout. Germination times vary heavily depending on the plant.
Starting to Sprout – This means that the seeds for the plant have begun sprouting and the next available sprout should pop up in the next day or two.
Sprout – The plant is considered a sprout from the day it pops out of the soil, to the day it has it’s first set of adult leaves. They are very fragile during this stage, but it doesn’t last too long until their adult leaves come in. Even though it has sprouted, it won’t be ready to go home until those leaves come in – once they do, they can be safely repotted and transported to their new home.
There is a 7 day grace period for both the 25% deposit when your plant sprouts, and the remaining payment when the plant is ready to go home.
This 7 day grace period covers you if you cannot make the deposit/payment the day it is required. It will still be reserved under your name, but if the deposit/payment isn’t made within 7 days after it was required, then your name will be taken off the plant and relisted. The 25% deposit is refundable until the day your plant is ready to go home. If you don’t pay, or decide you no longer want your plant the day it is ready, the deposit will not be refunded. If you need longer than 7 days and want to keep your name on the plant, you can extend your hold time here at an additional cost.
